Question by §♫♪‹(•¿•)›☼»-(¯`v´¯)-»\: Who can say a person is “abusing the system” just because they are applying for Social Security benefits?
If “the system” was not there for somebody…there would be no need for a system. And it woulldn’t be there when THEY needed it either. You are right. My pain is my own. No one else knows.
Why do people go on these tyraids trying to make a sick person feel guilty for being in bad shape and needing help?
Do THEY think they willl never get sick, or in a car wreck, or come down with a terminal illness?

The problem is that there are those who do abuse the system and make things more difficult for those of you who truly need the assistance.
I applied for food stamps a long time ago because I really needed them. My family made 100.00 too much to qualify for them, but I really did need them. There are those who will apply and lie about everything to ensure that they get the state aid they use to keep from working, and then there are those who get turned down because of a technicality when all they need is a little time to climb out of the mess they are in.
I am sorry there are people talking bad about you, and wish you luck maintaining your life on the tiny sum that SSI gives to those who have a disability.
