ALMOST half of women take risks with their safety just because they are carrying a mobile phone, alarming new research has found.The confidence the gadget bestows them means:42% of women walk home alone when they are carrying their mobile phone;The same percentage have visited a place they felt was unsafe because they had their phone; and,48% have crossed busy roads without checking for large oncoming vehicles such as buses and lorries because they are using their phone.Nearly all the women questioned said they felt safer when they carried their mobile phones.
