- Properly secure your window with a “pinning process” where a pin is installed in the window sash.
- A knob lock is not sufficient enough to secure an exterior door. Use a deadbolt lock.
- Properly securing all doors and windows on your residence deters burglars and uninvited persons.
- Properly illuminating the outside of your home, especially entry points discourages nighttime intruders.
- Dogs, alarms and good quality locks may deter burglars.
